Chemical peels are a simple, effective, and quick treatment to remove your old skin and replace it with newer skin to give you a more youthful appearance.  This treatment can only be performed by doctors licensed exclusively through SkinCeuticals, and our cosmetic surgeon has completed additional training in order to offer this service at Aspire Surgical.  Contact us today at 801-566-5117 to learn more about chemical peels in Murray, Utah, and to make your appointment with Dr. AJ Stosich.

Chemical peels are an outpatient procedure, meaning that you will not need to stay at our office overnight.  In fact, your treatment will be finished fairly quickly.  When you visit our practice for a chemical peel, our doctor will:

  • Thoroughly wash and clean your skin
  • Apply one or more chemical solutions to small areas. Some of these solutions may include glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, trichloroacetic acid, or carbolic acid.  Do not worry about the solutions applied to your skin – they are safe for use, and we will monitor you throughout your entire treatment to avoid any potential complications.
  • Create a controlled wound that will “blister” and peel off. Newer, smoother, and less-wrinkled skin will replace the older skin.

You may experience a slight burning sensation for 5-10 minutes or a stinging feeling during your treatment.  You can apply cold compresses to your skin to relieve your discomfort, and our doctors can also provide you with additional recommendations.

Please remember that your new skin will be hypersensitive to the sun.  Wear a broad-spectrum sun screen of at least 30 SPF daily until our doctors say otherwise.  Limit the time you spend in the sun, especially between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM when sun exposure is highest.

For best results, we recommend using SkinCeuticals homecare regiment following your procedure.  We will provide you with any additional post-procedure instructions you may need.
